Pictures from the Richmond Art Gallery!

Hello Everyone!
This is from the trading card show still on at the Richmond Art Gallery.  Mine are in the third row.  They are the women drawn in three styles: Story-book, Idealized and Japanese - Anime style.  You can see a sample below.  They were all hand drawn, colored in photo-shop then the lines were touched up with black ink.  Afterward, all cards received a embellishment by being with Japanese and Korean colored sparkle ink.  (It's very subtle) Lastly, small lacy cut outs were made on each card.
My friend, Kate Gauthier, is also in the show.  She hand cut out all of her pieces with an tiny exact o-knife and was playing with positive and negative space.  Really pretty Kate.  Enjoy!

Texture Map

Hello Everyone! I just thought I'd take a moment to throw up a texture map of mine. I'll throw up some more a little latter... I have to finish those illustrations...Only 15 more to go. I'm so excited!
Anyhow, back to my map. This is for the thatched roof of my little Versailles cottage that you can see when you go to my CG site: http://nakko.cgsociety.org/gallery/ It needs some more love. A.K.A. it needs to be a little more dence but when I start working the flowers in I can use up those spaces. I made this texture map using Maya(for the UV's), Photoshop and Zbrush. Yup, I'm on the Zbrush train. I used it to bake in a Mat cap and bump up the rishness factor. Mmmmm.... If this was food... it would be golden. Yum.

Ballerina

Hello Everyone! He he he... I feel so bad... which just goes to show how un-bad I am... I'm illustrating a book right now, and I took some time to do something just for me... Oh the shame.
Anyhow, here she is... she's all mine, hence the undefined style. Ah, oh well. Alright, back to the book.

Completing the last post

Hello again! Sorry, I didn't get back to you sooner. Ahhh... I have so much to do and no time... Stresssssssss.......... but, these are already scanned so it's going to feel soooo nice to complete something.... ahhhhh. Then back to the grind... I'm eagerly anticipating the release from this vice of stress.... it's going to feel so very good.... like a hot shower and chocolate all at the same time. I can't wait. Okay, I need to get at it. Here are the rest of the of my sketches. These are referencing Claire Wendling's sketches. She is easily my favorite artist at the moment. She is brilliant. If you haven't seen her work before I highly recomend you check her out. I think she has to be one of the best drawers of our time. Amazing. I also have referenced her in the doodles coming through post. For the going old school look I referenced Janet and Anne Grahame Johnstone. Very beautiful illustration style. I hope to incorporate some of their style into some completely original pieces of mine... if anything is truely original... ever. Well, as close as I can get any ways. Anyhow, with out further ado... please enjoy. Tara
