Here is my little Corner Gas Station. I've updated the textures and lighting since you've seen it last. I'm working on a little Acura that I'm going to drive down the street and park at the Gas Station soon. :D Ha ha... maybe I'll end up making a whole micro world! Funny. All the modeling was done in Maya and the textures/ height maps were created in Photoshop. Normal maps were created with Crazy bump. Anyhow, with out further ado. The Corner Gas Station! Enjoy!

New Oil Painting!
Well, here's my latest oil painting. It's part of the Modern Myth series I've been working on. The general idea about the series is how we march on into the future staring at the past. I have a lot to write on the development of the idea. Particularly because as the series has been developing so too has the concept. It's very interesting because my opinion has completely changed. I thought that it was a poor idea to stare at the past while moving forward because just like walking, you'll trip if you don't watch where your going. I thought we also falsely idealized the past when the standards of living have greatly increased in the last few hundred years. Well, even though those general ideas are true, I've found that perhaps not looking into the past while moving forward in history will cause us to trip as a people. If we don't take advantage of the education the past provides us with we have to relearn and reteach our selves. It's like having to reinvent the wheel over and over again. Very interesting ideas. Anyhow, I'm still working on this series. They have a modern treatment to the canvas with Gold Leaf, Wood Stain, sparkles and crystals. It's all sealed down and the oil is on the top most layer referencing some aspect of the old masters paintings. This particular one is referencing Leonardo Da Vinci.
